Car Insurance Oldsmobile (Car Insurance). What happens if you connect 2 cars' batteries without turning them on?

What happens if you connect 2 cars' batteries without turning them on? Like say you connect 2 batteries just like you would if you were going to jump start (obviously connecting the negative on a metal part of the dead battery car) but you dont start up neither. Leave it connected for a few seconds or maybe a minute. Would that charge up the battery for later? or would It just be a call for an explosion or something like that??? Thanks NO RUDE ANSWERS please

I believe at one both batteries would have the same amount of power. The good battery would transfer as much more power it has to the bad one until the bad one reaches a level equal to the bad battery. If the bad battery doesn't hold a charge, then, they would eventually die. If you just start the car the alternator will charge the battery The car that is Dead should not be running, but the car that works should be running. Then once the wires are connected to the batteries start the car that dosnt work, if that dosnt work then you have a different problem your mom will explode Depending on the age of the host vehicle the best way is: Connect the cables - pos to pos and neg from host vehicle to metal bracket, away from battery, on dead vehicle. It wouldn't do anything but maybe drain the good battery a little. If that. Don't use an alternator to try and charge a dead battery, they are not designed to do that and in fact, will get damaged trying. Use a battery charger. It's AMAZING Hope it helps http://inhut.info/30178/battery-cars

Should I buy this 2000 toyota corolla? I need a car (im going to college soon) and i will be commuting. I found a 2000 Toyota Corolla VE with 109k miles. I'm pretty sure the dealership got it from an auction. They want $2800 for it. It seems the price is low for a toyota, especially one that's a 1.8L. I talked to the dealer on the phone and they told me the car has no problems. I'm going to test drive it on Thursday (in two days). Is this a good deal? or does this year corolla have problems with something i'm unaware of? I checked reviews online and they were very good for the most part and the KBB price is $4500+. What should I check on it? car insurance.

Oldsmobile . How to Replace Oxygen Sensors in a 2002 Jaguar S-Type

When an oxygen sensor fails on your 2002 Jaguar S-Type, the gas mileage of your car declines noticeably. The oxygen sensor regulates the amount of fuel your car burns, and when it fails your car burns more fuel than necessary. You can replace the oxygen sensors on your 2002 Jaguar S-Type yourself.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Oxygen sensor wrench
Anti-seize compound

Step by Step :
1
Locate the Jaguar's two oxygen sensors, which are on either side of the catalytic converter on the exhaust manifold. The Jaguar's two oxygen sensors resemble gold spark plugs that have an electrical wire attached to the end.
2
Remove the Jaguar's wiring harness from the back of the oxygen sensor by hand, making sure not to damage the end of Jaguar's wiring harness.
3
Use the oxygen sensor wrench to remove the Jaguar's two oxygen sensors from the exhaust manifold.
4
Apply the anti-seize compound to the threads of the Jaguar's two new oxygen sensors.
5
Install the Jaguar's two new oxygen sensors to the exhaust manifold using the oxygen sensor wrench. Use your fingers to attach the Jaguar's wiring harness to the ends of the two oxygen sensors.
Tips & Warnings
Run the engine for about five minutes before beginning, because a warm oxygen sensor may be easier to remove.

Use caution around hot Jaguar exhaust parts

Oldsmobile . How do I Replace Hyundai Oxygen Sensors?

Replacing the oxygen sensors, or O2 sensors, on your Hyundai can improve its fuel economy, idle quality and overall engine performance. The O2 sensors are responsible for reading the percentage of oxygen in the exhaust gases as the exhaust leaves the engine. A sign that an oxygen sensor needs to be replaced is poor fuel economy. You can replace the sensors yourself by following several steps.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Oxygen sensor wrench
Anti-seize compound

Step by Step :
1
Locate the two oxygen sensors on either side of the catalytic converter of the Hyundai's exhaust system. The Hyundai's two oxygen sensors look like gold spark plugs with an electrical wire coming out the end.
2
Remove the Hyundai's wiring harness from the end of each oxygen sensor. Using your fingers, lift off the wire at the end of the Hyundai oxygen sensors without damaging the ends of the wiring harness.
3
Remove the oxygen sensors from the Hyundai's exhaust system using the oxygen sensor wrench.
4
Apply the anti-seize compound to the threads of the two new Hyundai oxygen sensors.
5
Install the two new oxygen sensors into the Hyundai's exhaust system using the oxygen sensor wrench. Attach the two Hyundai's wiring harnesses to the ends of the oxygen sensors using your fingers.
Tips & Warnings
Let the Hyundai's engine run for about five minutes before beginning the task. The oxygen sensors may be easier to remove from the exhaust system when they are warm.

A Hyundai's exhaust system heats up quickly. Take care not to get burned while working in that area.

• If you have drum brakes, you can see another set of bearings hi the center hole of the drum. These are your inner wheel bearings. At this time, you have to decide whether you're going to remove the inner bearings to check and pack them. The following will help you decide whether to remove the inner bearings: • You can't remove the inner bearing from its seat in the hub unless you have a new grease seal for it. So if you're just checking on this expedition, leave the inner bearings alone until you're sure from the condition of the outer bearings that repacking is in order. • Generally speaking, if the outer bearings look okay, the inner ones are okay, too. Just check each wheel and put everything back according to the instructions for reassembling drum brakes earlier in this chapter. 857 Car Insurance mercury mountaineer 2000 225440

.Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings 2 C V 9. If you're not planning to repack the inner bearings, do not attempt to take them out of their seat in the drum. Skip Steps 10 through 13 and continue with Step 14. If you are repacking the inner bearings, slide the brake drum or disc toward you, with the inner bearings still in place, but do not slide the drum completely off the spindle. Instead, screw the adjusting nut back hi again and pull the drum toward you and push it back. The adjusting nut should catch the inner bearing and its grease seal and free them from inside the hub. 10. Clean and pack the inner bearings, using the technique described in Steps 5 through 8. 11. Take a rag and wipe out the hole in the hub of the drum where the inner bearing went; then take another gob of grease and smooth it into the hole. Be sure that the grease fills the races inside the hub where the bearing fits. Wipe off excess grease around the outside of the hole or it will fly around when the car's in motion, possibly damaging your brakes. 12. Insert the inner bearing into the hub, with the small end first. Take the new grease seal and spread a film of grease around the sealing end (the flat, smooth side). 13. To fit the new grease seal into place properly, slide it in evenly; otherwise, it will bend or break, and you'll lose your grease. a follow pipe or a large socket from a socket wrench set that has roughly the same diameter as the seal. With the flat, smooth side of the seal toward you, place the seal in the hub opening, and use the pipe or socket to move it into the hub gently and evenly. The new seal should end up flush with the outside of the hub or slightly inside it.

14. Return to the instructions on checking drum brakes and pick up where you left off. .^ ^"~~ You'll be glad to know that your rear wheels have no wheel bearings to pack (unless your vehicle has front-wheel drive and the manual says that you can repack the rear bearings). You do have axle bearings, but you must replace these if they wear out; you can't repack them. If your car is quite old and you hear a clicking or grinding noise from the vicinity of your rear wheels, have these bearings checked and replaced if necessary. Hearing worn axle bearings is easiest when you drive down an alley or a narrow driveway because the noise echoes loudly. Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System A quick Way to tell Whether your bearing's Wearing If you just want to check your bearings for wear without removing the wheels, do the following: 1. Jack up your car and support it on safety stands. If you've been checking your brakes, your car is already jacked up; if

Flushing and Changing Brake Fluid If, after checking your brake system, you find that you have a leak or you have to bleed your brakes (see the section "Bleeding your brakes" for more information), you'll have to restore the brake fluid in your master cylinder to its proper level. Here are some things that you should know about buying and using brake fluid: 0 Always use top-quality brake fluid from a well-known manufacturer. Most vehicles call for either D.O.T. 3 or D.O.T. 4 fluid. Sometimes the type of fluid to use is listed on the master cylinder reservoir cover or cap. * Exposure to air swiftly contaminates brake fluid. The oxygen in the air oxidizes it and lowers its boiling point. Brake fluid also has an affinity for moisture, and the water vapor in the air can combine with the brake fluid to form ice crystals that make braking difficult in cold weather. Adding water vapor-contaminated fluid to your brake system can rust the system and create acids that etch your wheel cylinders and master cylinder and foul your brakes, causing them to work poorly — or not at all. Therefore, if you're going to add brake fluid to your system, buy a small can, add the fluid to your master cylinder, and throw the rest away,
